Our client in the Marine/Oil & Gas Industry is seeking for a Asst Principal Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design and integration of power generation and distribution system and ship’s equipments including electrical propulsion system, navigation and communication system, etc.
  • Responsible for marine electrical system engineering and outfitting design work.
  • Responsible for handling of new tender enquiries including preparation of documents such as technical specification, supplier’s technical proposal evaluation and load calculation.
  • To carry out design studies, design and development of new ship building and/or upgrading projects.
  • To prepare technical specification and evaluation/selection/purchase of equipment.
  • To liaise with customers, vendors and regulatory bodies on engineering design requirement.
  • To lead in electrical project management and co-ordinate both internal & external resources to ensure timely delivery of project.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge in 2D or 3D CAD drafting software.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, rules & regulations in marine environment (e.g.Classification rules,FlagStatesand international bodies such as IEC requirement).
  • Knowledge of installation engineering and construction process.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in shipyard’s engineering dept or marine consulting firm.
