CEO Search Strategy

The responsibility of finding the right person as the CEO often rests with the board of directors. For many companies, the Chairman of the Board of Directors is usually the person who initiates the search process. Clearly he or she has to bear in mind, the goals and needs of the organization. Often the “right” person is in the mind of the Chairman but it is altogether a different matter to put the concept down in writing.

What about having a clearly defined and sufficiently detailed job description for the role of the CEO?

The practical issue: Is it really useful to have one? To some extent no, for it is by far more difficult to confine these within an employment contract, what in reality is an extensively wide role of a CEO.

Recruit Strategy’s niche research together with renowned top brains in the world together with the Sun Tze of War Institute, a Strategic Leadership Centre of Excellence Think Tank based in Singapore; with the mission to promote leadership and strategic thinking using the Ancient strategies.

Tapping into the ancient Chinese stratagem – “Sun Tzu Art of War”,  Recruit Strategy CEO Search aims to unlock the “Strategic Impact” of business leaders by sharpening their leadership mindset and developing “Winning strategies” against all odds.

On the five forces which assess, calculate, identify, develop and create the Right Career for the Right Candidate. It embraces the following 5 fundamentals from the Art of War Strategies in our talent search: Moral, Climate, Terrain, Leadership and Discipline.

天 – Climate [ The forces exhibits as spring, summer, autumn and winter]

将 – Leadership [ The strategies of a Leader ]

地 – Terrain [ The shift of economy ]

道 – Moral [The behavior of organization as well as individual ]

法 – Discipline  [The policies ]

A good CEO qualites and even Moral and ethical elements correspond with the five elements. For example, benevolence is wood, righteousness is gold, propriety is water, wisdom is fire and trust is earth.  A deeply practice co-founded by Christie Khoo who has developed a keen eye in the talent search on finding the right CEO through vigorously technique that has provided low attrition levels and a high return-on-investment for our clients.
