Software Engineer ( Based in Singapore )

Job:

  • Conduct software analysis, design and documentation of common software framework for mission critical systems
  • Develop, Test, integrate and deploy software module
  • Support system testing and evaluation activities including factory and User Acceptance Test

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Electronics Engineering / Communication Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / IT
  • At least 2 years of hands on experience in .NET and Oracle Service Bus.
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle
  • In-depth understanding of XML, MQ, Web service, SOA will be an advantage
  • Those with more years of experience will be considered for senior position
Basic Salary SGD$2,500 ~ SGD$ 3,500.00 per month

Our client in the Marine/Oil & Gas Industry is seeking for a Asst Principal Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design and integration of power generation and distribution system and ship’s equipments including electrical propulsion system, navigation and communication system, etc.
  • Responsible for marine electrical system engineering and outfitting design work.
  • Responsible for handling of new tender enquiries including preparation of documents such as technical specification, supplier’s technical proposal evaluation and load calculation.
  • To carry out design studies, design and development of new ship building and/or upgrading projects.
  • To prepare technical specification and evaluation/selection/purchase of equipment.
  • To liaise with customers, vendors and regulatory bodies on engineering design requirement.
  • To lead in electrical project management and co-ordinate both internal & external resources to ensure timely delivery of project.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge in 2D or 3D CAD drafting software.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, rules & regulations in marine environment (e.g.Classification rules,FlagStatesand international bodies such as IEC requirement).
  • Knowledge of installation engineering and construction process.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in shipyard’s engineering dept or marine consulting firm.

RS Air Talent – Rasmus Stauning Agerskov


Dear Ms. Christie,

Thank you very much for attending me today.

I am interested to apply for internships in Singapore and shall abide with the Republic of Singapore’s policy.

I will describe you as detailed as I can what I’m searching for next semester.

I’m a last year master student (2 year duration) from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), studying a MSc in Engineering Management. I applied for exchange to Singapore as it is the “Mecca” of Management and Business in Asia, which is an emergent market. That is the reason why I applied for NTU, it was offering courses oriented in my area of interest: project management, product innovation and supply chain.

My bachelor is completely different. I’ve got a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering, specialized in Air Navigation Systems from the Politechnical University of Catalonia (UPC Barcelona, Spain).

That means that I will or I should end up obtaining technical and the management skills, having a completely view of what is going on. It is important to understand the organisation bottom-up rather then top-down.

Good career starts from doing good in every career that is what I believe in.  Having to write my master thesis, mandatory at my university. I would rather do it within a company because you start gaining knowledge and see how the real life works.

That means that from start-mid january or as soon as possible I would like to begin my Master Thesis within a company who completes my areas of request. The sector is not a priority, but if I got the change the opportunity to choose I would like it to be related to Aerospace, Wind Energy, Construction, Product Development or Change Managment.

I hope you can help me with my problem so I could finally do my Master Thesis in Singapore. It would mean so much for me personally and also to the CV. Moreover, it could be a small step to end up working in Singapore for some years. As you said, Singapore is looking for foreign people to provide innovative inputs.
